Armed Forces support services

The Armed Forces Support Service supports members of the Armed Forces community, including those who have left (regardless of how long ago) or are leaving. The service also offers support and advice to serving reservists and to family members of the above groups.

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans helps all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.

Blind Veterans UK helps ex-Service men and women of every generation rebuild their lives after sight loss.

A scheme which helps connect ex-service veterans with the armed forces community and highlight the services available to them.

Forward Assist provides support, advice, guidance and advocacy.

Help for Heroes aims to provide lifetime support to those wounded in the service of their country.

NAAFI Break is a face-to-face drop-in service in South Shields run by veterans of the Armed Forces.

The Royal British Legion provides lifelong support for the Armed Forces community - serving men and women, veterans, and their families.

SSAFA provides lifelong support to those who are serving or have served in the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines or the Royal Air Force, and to their families.

The Veterans Welfare Service (VWS) is committed to enhancing the quality of life for veterans and beneficiaries of Veterans UK pensions and compensation schemes, and all their dependants.
