Jarrow Community Pool

Overview

Jarrow Community Pool has a 25 metre, four lane pool with suitable water depths for competitive swimmers' dive starts. 

The pool also has a moveable floor, meaning the depth of the water can be adjusted to cater for varying age groups and abilities.

Schools have use of the pool during school hours in term-time. Outside of these hours the pool is available for public use, swimming lessons and regular bookings from swimming clubs, as well as community groups such as Scouts and Guides.

How to get here

By car

Jarrow Community Pool is located adjacent to the B1516, approximately 0.8 miles from Jarrow Town Centre. 

We have free on site car parking.

By local bus services

Bus numbers 5, 26 and 88A.  There are bus stops at York Avenue.

By Metro

The nearest Metro station is Jarrow followed by a 17 minute walk (approximately).

Unfortunately due to high demand for lessons, our swimming lesson waiting list is currently closed. We are working hard to allocate spaces to those who have previously applied and as soon as a space that you have requested becomes available you will be contacted via email.

Lifeguard course

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) courses are available at Jarrow Community Pool.

The NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the UK and is an internationally recognised qualification which can be an entry into the leisure industry.

Party and group hire

Jarrow Community Pool will be available to hire for parties and group bookings, for up to 30 people.
