Must be aged 19+ and have lived in the UK / EU for a minimum of three years.

For full funding, must be aged 19+, receive any state benefit payment (evidence required), unemployed or working less than 16 hours and seeking employment.

The course is designed to boost the individuals work and life skills to help them gain employment in the desired role. This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people aged 0 - 19 years and their environments. It covers a wide range of areas including child development and safeguarding.

This course will make you employment ready and you can apply for jobs after completion. You will gain sector knowledge and skills, plus interview skills within a session with the National Careers Service.

This qualification provides a direct progression route to the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce.

Learners could also progress to the following job roles:

• assistant pre-school workers
• assistants in children's centres
• assistants in day nurseries, nursery schools and nursery classes in primary schools
