Who is this course for? (Eligibility and personal characteristics)

Must be aged 19+ and have lived in the UK / EU for a minimum of three years.

For full funding, must be aged 19+, receive any state benefit payment (evidence required), unemployed or working less than 16 hours and seeking employment.

What will I study? (Key modules or content)

The aim of our 'Next Steps' course is to prepare learners for employment within the care sector. The focus of this course is on the learner's individual and professional development, providing a clear pathway from vocational training into work.

It covers aspects of employment covered by law, sources and types of information and advice available in relation to employment rights and responsibilities, terms and conditions of a contract of employment, CV writing and interview skills.

Progression and Careers

You could progress to a Level 1 in Introduction to Early Years Settings or Level 1 in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.
