This is a term-time only course which runs over 15 weeks. Attendance is 5 hours per week over 1 - 2 days.  

Who is this course for? (Eligibility and personal characteristics)

We have designed this course to suit a wide variety of learners including the following:

  • Those with an interest in employment
  • Those looking to improve basic IT skills, such as using laptops, word processing and digital file management - again increasing employability
  • Those looking to improve 'softer skills' such as peer working, planning, engagement, self-confidence and communication
  • Those looking to build experience content for their CV by volunteering
  • Those who need to build skills and confidence to enter the workplace
  • Those who are unsure of a career path and looking to try something different, and also gain a useful qualification and transferrable skills

The NOCN Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development is designed to provide an introduction to employability skills to build confidence for the workplace. Learners will gain an overview of key skills and areas of knowledge in order to inform further study and / or employment choices. 

Learners will be supported in applying for vocational courses and or career opportunities.
