Who is this course for? (Eligibility and personal characteristics)This course is for residents of South Tyneside aged 19 or over in receipt of unemployment related benefits.

  • Identifying skills to be developed
  • Employer expectations
  • Communication skills through presentation
  • Interview questions and answers
  • Understanding STAR technique
  • Hard skills versus soft skills
  • Using laptops and the internet to support with employer fact finding
  • Practicing using mock interview techniques
  • Raising confidence in a group setting through verbal contribution
  • Team work
  • Confirming employer expectations and how to plan and prepare in advance using all available resources
  • Sharing good/bad practices in interviews
  • Facing your own fears and concerns
  • Mock interview in readiness for actual employer interview
