| What will I study? (Key modules or content) | Digital Confidence - Byte 1. This is a basic computer course about the fundamentals of using a computer: - Understanding the basic components of a computer
- Starting or shutting down a computer
- Using a keyboard
- Using the mouse
- Using Icons to open a program
- Using the Menu bar (drop down boxes)
- How to open Word
- Using formatting commands (bold / italicise / underline, changing font size or font type, using Alignment (left, centre, right)
- Using Undo or Redo
- Using Spell Check
- Understand the meaning of the terms close, minimise, maximise and restore down in relation to documents
- Develop knowledge of the meaning of basic computer related terminology
- Be able to create a new MS Word document
