| What will I study? (Key modules or content) | Digital Confidence Byte 2- To improve confidence in using computers and perform basic word processing and formatting functions. You will learn about: - Using a keyboard
- Using a mouse to move the cursor
- Using Icons to open a program
- Using Windows features minimize, resize and exit buttons
- Using the Tool bar (icons)
- How to Scroll
- Using Formatting commands (Bold / Italicise / Underline, changing Font size or Font type, changing text colour or highlighting text, using Alignment (left, centre, right)
- Using Undo or Redo
- Using Spell Check
- Using Bullet points and Numbering
- Make amendments to a covering letter
- Functions needed to create a CV
By the end of the course you will: - have increased confidence and skills in using computers.
- have further developed the ability to complete basic word processing functions.
- have improved their knowledge of computer related terminology.
- be able to type a covering letter and have the ability to make any future amendments.
- understand the importance of saving work completed on the computer.
- understand the importance of creating an appropriate CV.
- have improved their ability to create a basic CV and have the ability to make any future amendments
- understand the meaning of the terms close, minimise, maximise and restore down in relation to documents.
- continue to develop understanding of basic keyboard functions.
- be able to create a new document.
- have further developed your ability to apply basic formatting to text such as bold, italic, underline, change font, change font size and alignment.
- be able to use the spell check facility.
- have an understanding of how to use the copy and paste facility.
