Who is this course for? (Eligibility and personal characteristics)

This course is for individuals involved in the manufacturing process at work, whatever the sector. Learners may typically be responsible for the day-to-day running of equipment and for the quality of work. They are also capable of monitoring and controlling equipment and quality, and able to exercise some judgement and decision making about the manufacturing process they are involved in.

What will I study? (Key modules or content)

Completion of 6 units that make up the full L2 Diploma. 

Mandatory units include:

  • Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
  • Contributing to effective team working

Other units will be selected with the individual and the employer to suit their needs, and may include:

  • Preparing for manufacturing operations
  • Making sure effective handover of manufacturing operations
  • Producing products by processing
  • Controlling manufacturing operations
  • Transferring materials
  • Receiving and checking incoming materials
