Who is this course for? (Eligibility and personal characteristics)

Individuals wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification or progressing from level 1 (equivalent to GCSE D/E/1-3) in English

What will I study? (Key modules or content)

Learners will study three units included in the English functional skills qualification i.e., Speaking, Listening and Communication (SLC), Reading and Writing. Each unit has its own assessment which must be achieved to gain the full qualification. 

What are the entry requirementsCompletion of initial assessment to determine skills and knowledge. Learners should demonstrate level 1 in English as a minimum (if working towards level 2).

Functional skills English level 2 is a nationally recognised qualification used as entry requirement into apprenticeship provision (level 2 or higher).
