Introduction to Universal Credit

5 hours, one day, 10am until 3pm

This course will provide you with an awareness and reflection of the Universal Credit unemployment benefit package, how it will impact upon you, what to do and how it will impact when starting work.

This course will allow you to:

• have an awareness of Universal Credit
• identify some qualifying conditions of Universal Credit
• identify existing benefits which are merging
• plan and prepare all required information to make an online claim
• understand the implications of 'commitment', 'conditionality' and 'sanctions'
• plan and budget finances and safeguard tenancy
• carry out basic calculations of Universal Credit elements
• Share and address any fears and concerns you might have
