  • Learn about equality rights and responsibilities including disclosure of convictions

By the end of this course you will:

  • Understand problems faced by employers when recruiting
  • Understand what STAR means
  • Know why research can improve chances when applying
  • Understand the purpose of cover letters
  • Understand content needed in a cover letter
  • Know rights of employers to ask about health
  • Know applicants' rights about telling employers about health
  • What to change on CV for different jobs and employers?
  • Understand about Job descriptions, person specifications and essential / desirable criteria
  • Know why employers ask equality and diversity questions
  • Know what references are for
  • Understand how to explain any health issues / disability
  • Know what to do if nervous in an interview
  • Know who you can ask for a reference

  • Produce, create and save new CV and covering letters
  • Taking responsibility and ownership of your own CV
