Protecting yourself and your business from Cyber Crime shouldn't be complicated or bamboozling.
That's why BIPC North East have teamed up with our Cyber Security Experts from North East Regional Cyber Crime Unit from the region's joint police services to help arm your organisation with need-to-know tools and techniques delivered in a fun & informal way.
Starting from August 2022, Jon Hudson for The North East Regional Cyber Crime Unit (NERCCU) will be dropping into a BIPC Local near you to provide helpful sessions on everything you need to know to help defend you against Cyber Crime.

In the game, participants will play the role of 'Cyber Security Consultants' and are allocated a pot of money to spend on which ever cyber defences you choose!
Decisions & Disruptions is a fun, friendly and light hearted way of learning about the results of decisions (whether these turn out to be benefits or consequences) you make around Cyber Security.
Participants will leave with a greater understanding about this subject, and at the same time, have fun!
What to expect on the day?
- Decision & Disruptions will take place at The Word, South Shields on Tuesday 13 September, 10.00am to 12.00pm.
- Please arrive from 9.45am for registration
- Participants will be joining a team of up to 5 people, so please feel free to bring a work colleague or friend. There will be up to a maximum of 6 teams on the day.

About Cyber Crime Expert - Jon Hudson
The North East Cyber Protect Network consists of Cyber Protect Officers within the North East Regional Special Operations Unit (NERSOU) and our three North East Police Forces, Cleveland, Durham and Northumbria.
We work to deliver a National Strategy set in collaboration with key partners such as the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
Our underlying aim is to reduce the likelihood of businesses in our region from becoming victims of cybercrime and we are here to assist in any way we can. Put simply, we want to reduce the number of victims of crime.
The good news is, a lot of common attacks can be prevented by doing the basics. We're here to tell you what those basics are (and a little bit more). We offer advice on defending yourself against common attacks as well as how to be better prepared to recover from an attack. We offer staff training to spot common threats, 1 to 1 sessions, presentations, workshops and even offer a free vulnerability assessment - amongst other things.
