Blue bins (recycling)

• Batteries - Do not put any batteries in your blue recycling bin or your grey household bin. Remove batteries from all household appliances that you put in your grey bin, as these can cause a fire. See where to recycle batteries.
• Plastic bags - Do not put any plastic bags or black sacks in your blue bin. Your recyclables should be placed in the caddy or the bin loose.
• Garden waste - Do not put garden waste in your blue bin - this should be put in your green bin if you subscribed to the payable service. For information about garden waste, see Garden waste (green bins).
• Flares - Do not put flares in your blue recycling bin or your grey household bin.
• Polystyrene - Do not put polystyrene in your blue recycling bin.

If in doubt, leave it out.
