Overview of the proposal

The proposal includes:

  • Introduction of no waiting at any time
  • no waiting at any time with exemption for verge parking
  • no loading / unloading at any time
  • school entrance markings, Monday to Friday 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce:

No Waiting At Any Time on Hylton Avenue, South Shields north west side from its junction with Witton Avenue in a south westwards direction for a distance of 80 metres and from its junction with Witton Avenue in a north eastwards direction for a distance of 18 metres and on Witton Avenue, South Shields both sides from its junction with Hylton Avenue in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres. 

No Waiting At Any Time with Exemption for Verge Parking on Hylton Avenue, South Shields north west side from a point 26 metres south west of its junction with Witton Avenue in a south westwards direction for a distance of 54 metres.

No Loading/Unloading At Any Time north west side from its junction with Witton Avenue in a south westwards direction for a distance of 20 metres and from its junction with Witton Avenue in a north eastwards direction for a distance of 18 metres and on Witton Avenue, South Shields both sides from its junction with Hylton Avenue in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres.

School Entrance Markings Monday to Friday, 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on Hylton Avenue, South Shields north west/south west and south east side from a point 82 metres southwest of its junction with Witton Avenue in a south westwards, then south eastwards, then north eastwards direction for a distance of 35.56 metres.

If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any other observations about these proposals, you must make them in writing to the Council's Legal Services Department at the address below or by using the same email address above by the 28 October 2021.
