Wall Plaques and Vase Block Tablets
The Memorial Wall is located within a secluded and quiet corner of the crematorium gardens and is constructed of York stone. It can accommodate wall plaques within the niche spaces on the face of the wall, or vase block tablets at the base of the wall.
Wall plaques:
These polished black granite plaques are positioned on the face of the wall and bear a gold finished inscription to your loved one. An illustration or photograph may also be added.
There is no facility to attach personal memorabilia but floral tributes can be placed in the vases that are set in the grass opposite the wall.
The plaques are purchased for a ten year period and may also be renewed for a further ten years at the appropriate time.
Vase block tablets:
Cut from a block of pure York stone, these vase blocks are positioned along the foot of the wall and include a polished black granite plaque bearing an inscription to your loved one. An illustration or photograph may also be added. The vase block also includes a small aluminium vase into which flowers can be placed.
The plaques are purchased for a ten year period and may also be renewed for a further ten years at the appropriate time.
Please note:
No other forms of memorial item can be placed on, or adjacent to, the Memorial Wall. This includes the fixing or positioning of cards and photographs. No ceramic, glass or plastic vases are allowed in the vicinity of the wall. The council reserves the right to remove any unauthorised memorial placed on, or adjacent to, the Memorial Wall without prior notice being given.
