Hebburn Minewater Project
Work schedule
Drilling investigation works have been ongoing as part of the testing phase of the project.
Target mineworkings have now been hit at a depth of 291m.
Testing will continue on the site and wider boreholes will be constructed.
During the drilling, there will several vehicles and machinery on site. There will also be an increase in noise levels during the works, however, measures have been put in place to minimise the impact of this.
The drilling works are now expected to be complete by June 2022.
Vital Energy has been awarded the Contract to construct the Energy Centre and Network, which is due to start at the beginning of June 2022.
The project is due to be completed in June 2023.
Work start and finish times:
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
- Saturday, 8am till 1pm
- No work will take place on Sundays or public holidays
If works take longer than expected, nearby residents will be told as soon as possible.
