Overview

When children and their parents are involved in Child Protection Conferences (and core groups) all those involved make every effort to ensure that the process is made as clear and straight forward as possible.

What we do when we get a comment or complaint

Whenever a comment or complaint is received we will make sure that:

  • It is dealt with quickly
  • It is dealt with by the right person
  • Every effort is made to resolve any problems

What you might complain about

  • The conference process
  • Whether the relevant inter-agency procedures have been observed correctly
  • Any other relevant concern in relation to the child protection process

Possible outcome of complaints

  • The complaint is upheld and further action is taken
  • A recommendation could be made to the core group for a specific piece of work to be completed
  • No further action considered necessary

Things that you may wish to comment on or make suggestions about

  • The quality of service given by a practitioner
  • The way the conference or core group is run
  • Whether you felt included in the process
  • Whether you felt your views were listened to
  • The venue and timing of meetings
  • The people invited to the meeting
