Overview

South Tyneside Safeguarding Children and Adults Partnership (STSCAP) provides e-learning training.

The training is hosted by Virtual College, one of the UK's leading e-learning colleges.

  • All modules have interactive learning screens, learner challenges, tracking and online assessment
  • The content of the courses have been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines
  • When you successfully complete your course and the knowledge test, you will be able to print out your own certificate

Once completed, you can revisit the module at any time to refresh your knowledge. This will not be recorded and you will not be issued with another certificate. 

To get evidence of CPD you will need to re-register and be issued with new login details.

Who the training is for

Our e-learning training modules are for all partner organisations, including the voluntary, community and faith based sector, within South Tyneside.

When the training has to be completed

Once you've registered, you will have four weeks to complete the training module you have requested.

Charges for not completing an e-learning course

There is a charge of £40 for any e-learning module that has not been started or finished in four weeks.

The invoice will be sent to the appropriate manager.

You must let you manager know if you are planning to complete any e-learning training before you register for the course.

You can access e-learning courses through a self-registration method.

All fields marked with an * are mandatory and must be completed before login can be successful. This will include the contact details for line managers.

Please note, we recommend that managers / head teachers etc. do not sign up all their staff in a 'block booking' for e-learning. Staff should be advised what courses they need to complete and take responsibility for registering and completing (within the 4 week timescale) their own training needs.

How to register

Firstly, tell your line manager that you plan to access the e-learning training. When registering, include contact details for your line manager.

Staff should register themselves and take responsibility for completing the training within four weeks. We do not advocate managers or head teachers signing all their staff up in a 'block booking'. If you have any queries about this please contact the Learning and Development Advisor 0191 424 6332.
