Process map for reporting a prevent concern for a vulnerable person
Contents
Overview
The objectives of Prevent are to:
- Tackle the causes of radicalisation and respond to the ideological challenge of terrorism.
- Safeguard and support those most at risk of radicalisation through early intervention, identifying them and offering support.
- Enable those who have already engaged in terrorism to disengage and rehabilitate.
The steps below show the process you should follow for reporting a prevent concern for a vulnerable person
Noticing a concern
If you notice a concern that someone may be on the route of being radicalised, you should then check out your concern.
Checking out your concern
You can check your concern with your line manager or with your agency's safeguarding lead.
You should then ask yourself: Is there an immediate risk of a terror incident taking place?

You must call 999 or the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789321.
