Audit of accounts 2020 / 2021 - Right to inspect the statement of accounts

The Statement of Accounts of South Tyneside Council, including the Tyne and Wear Pension Fund Accounts, for the year ended 31 March 2021 will be published within the 2020 / 21 Unaudited Financial Statements and can be found on the Council's website from 30 June 2021 onwards.

Under the regulations, the Statement of Accounts is available for inspection by any interested party or any journalist at Hawthorne Building, 13 Rolling Mill Road, Jarrow, NE32 3DP during the period Thursday 1 July 2021 to Wednesday 11 August 2021. Due to Covid-19 restrictions inspection can only be undertaken on appointment arranged in advance, when any such party may view and make copies of the Statement of Accounts or any of the supporting working papers

Interested parties can also raise questions with the Council's auditors. The Council's Auditor can be contacted at Ernst & Young LLP, Citygate, St James' Boulevard, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4JD where any objections to the accounts should be lodged. All other requests should be made at the Town Hall & Civic Offices address given below.
